Surrogate Restorative Dialogue
A Surrogate Restorative Dialogue is a powerful and helpful strategy for survivors for whom no one was identified as the person responsible, or the person responsible is not available or lacks capacity, or for survivors who do not want a direct dialogue with the person responsible for harm. In this process, survivors can share about their experience and dialogue with incarcerated people who are responsible for similar and other forms of harm. Surrogate Restorative Dialogues also provide opportunities for incarcerated people to express their accountability and remorse, and gain insight into the harm they caused.
