Mend Collaborative is proud to have partnered with The Moth Community Program and Unlikely Collaborators to share powerful stories from our community.
At Mend, we believe that those who have experienced violence and those who have committed harm have so much to share and learn from each other. So in a way, this work is all about storytelling. Usually these stories are told in privacy. But we know that sharing our stories has benefits beyond individual repair – storytelling creates empathy, understanding, and challenges our assumptions about harm and healing.
As we share these stories with a wider audience, we are profoundly grateful for this collaboration. It is our hope that these stories can reach people who otherwise would never encounter them, offering a small glimpse into the nuance and complexity of the hundreds of thousands of lives in our justice system.
