Mend Collaborative attended the 2023 Smart Justice CA Policy Retreat
Mend Collaborative attended the 2023 Smart Justice CA Policy Retreat and Summit along with over forty legislators and advocates, and was invited to present in the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJD) about the importance of restorative justice and victim impact programs inside prisons.
Co-Founder and Co-Director Rebecca Weiker facilitated a conversation between Trino Jimenez (today a Mend Collaborative VOD facilitator) who tragically lost his brother to violence and the person directly responsible for the loss of his sibling. Through this conversation, we were able to see the power of restorative justice to provide healing and empowerment for survivors.
